Liverpool are in a battle with clubs from Spain for Polish winger Jakub Kosecki, according to reports.
Punto Pelota claims Reds boss Brendan Rodgers faces competition from both Atletico Madrid and Valencia for the left-sided speedster.
Kosecki has been earning rave reviews at Legia Warsaw, impressing domestically and in sporadic European appearances.
The report claims these performances have moved the 22-year-old closer to a move away from the Polish Army Stadium, and that Kosecki has a desire to ply his trade in Spain like his father.
Roman Kosecki spent three seasons in La Liga, playing for Osasuna and Atletico before enjoying a spell in France. He made 69 appearances for his country, scoring 19 goals.
Kosecki junior is on the way to following in his dad’s footsteps with three international appearances to his name, as well as a goal for Waldemar Fornalik’s side.
But, Liverpool are hoping to make the player write a piece of his own history in the Premier League with a move to Merseyside.
He'd join a growing list of summer signings at Anfield if Rodgers can persuade the player to join the Reds, with Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto the two attacking additions so far.
Kosecki would give Liverpool more options moving forward, but it appears the club are facing an uphill challenge to land the player.
