Arsenal forward Gervinho is on the verge of joining Roma according to reports in Italy.
The Ivory Coast international joined the Gunners in 2011 but has struggled to consistently find his best form and is now believed to be on the verge of leaving the club.
The Daily Star say reports in Italy suggest sporting director Walter Sabatini is currently in London speaking about to Arsenal about Gervinho, and that talks over a deal believed to be worth around £8 million are progressing well.
Roma's current manager is Rudi Garcia, who worked with Gervinho at Lille.
The paper quote a source close to Arsenal as saying: "Garcia has made Gervinho his top choice.
"He knows only too well of his capabilities and that is why Roma will pay a higher price."
The Gunners are yet to make a major signing this summer but are likely to step up their pursuit of a new striker if Gervinho does eventually leave.
They have had two bids for Liverpool's Luis Suarez turned down and missed out on Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli.
