Steven Gerrard rejected Bayern Munich move

According to the Daily Telegraph, Steven Gerrard rejected approaches from Champions League holders Bayern Munich last summer.

Gerrard - who has played over 600 games for Liverpool in a 16 year period - rejected a move to the Allianz Arena as well as other top European clubs over the last few years, as he is determined to help Liverpool secure qualification for the Champions League.

It has been suggested by some that the Liverpool captain has been wasted at the Merseyside club as the team never lived up to his ambitions, nor his quality.

The England International famously rejected a move to Chelsea in the summer of 2004, admitting that it was the first time in his career he'd ever considered moving on, but his love for Liverpool led him to reject the transfer.

After the season that Bayern have just had with their historic treble win and 7-0 aggregate triumph over Barcelona, one can only assume part of Gerrard will be regretting not giving his approval to a switch to the Bundesliga.

Liverpool now do look a stronger side however, and if they can convince star-man Luis Suarez to stay at the club, will undoubtedly be pushing for a top-four finish in the Premier League in 2013/14.
