Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Freiburg star Matthias Ginter, after the club's director Jochen Saier rubbished reports that the player will be sold this summer.
Ginter broke into the Freiburg first-team in 2012 and after impressing last season, he's attracted a lot of interest from around Europe.
It was suggested that the Gunners had made a bid for the 19-year-old, however the German U21 international now looks set to stay at Freiburg for the coming season.
On the proposed move of the youngster, the club's director told Badische Zeitung: "This is pure rubbish!
"We have not received any enquiries and we are not thinking about anything to do with this.
"Matthias Ginter is a big part of SC Freiburg, he is an important part of the first team."
With Arsene Wenger likely to miss out on the starlet, the Arsenal boss may turn his attention elsewhere, after admitting Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho are closing in on moves away from the Emirates.
The club still remain in the hunt for Liverpool star Luis Suarez - with the Uruguayan seeking a move away from Anfield, however any potential deal for the forward is still far from complete.
