We have seen Manchester United in the final of the Champions League three times over the past six seasons, but the Red Devils have failed to win it since beating Chelsea on penalties in Moscow in 2008.

Can David Moyes silence his critics this season by bringing the trophy back to The Theatre of Dreams?

With United winning the league title last season, the confidence of the squad will no doubt be as high as ever for the upcoming season.

The league champions failed to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season as they were beaten by Spanish giants Real Madrid, and former United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo came back to haunt them by scoring two goals over the two matches.

However, despite their early exit last season, we should expect the United squad to be as determined as ever to succeed in Europe this season under their new manager, David Moyes. He will also be hoping to take them all the way to the final in Lisbon next year.

Manchester United will no doubt strengthen their squad before the opening day of the upcoming season, and this will only help to benefit their challenge for silverware next season.

United have been linked with Bastian Schweinsteiger of late, who would surely inject a huge boost of much-needed quality in the central midfield area. We have also seen rejected bids for ex-Arsenal playmaker Francesc Fabregas, who would also produce those moments of magic which United need so desperately in those big matches through-out the season. These types of offers are a clear statement of intent that regardless of Sir Alex's departure, the red half of Manchester will still be a force to be reckoned with.

If Moyes can convince striker Wayne Rooney to stay at the club, whilst successfully adding extra quality to his squad, he will clearly have a team capable of retaining the league title, together with a successful run in Europe next season.

Can Manchester United go all the way in the Champions League next season?
