Blackpool manager Paul Ince was visibly angry - and rightly so - in his post-match interview after his team's 1-0 Capital One Cup loss to local rivals Preston.

Not only had he seen his side lose to a team from the division below but he also saw his players put in unsettling danger after jubilant Preston fans invaded the pitch after their teams 87th minute goal.

Ince was clearly worried about the safety of his players and made his point in candid and contrite post-match interview.

The Blackpool manager's anger wasn't so much directed at the Preston fans whose euphoria was understandable - but at the police and football's governing bodies, whom he clearly feels aren't doing enough to ensure the correct safety standards are kept.

Monday's unfortunate events saw a Preston steward taken to hospital after he was trampled by a frightened police horse while stadium authorities tried to regain control.

Ince makes several good points in his interview, particularly about stadium stewards, many of whom he thinks are also local club fans and don't possess the desire or power to keep rowdy fans in check.

The most pertinent point he makes is when will the lesson be learned?

In the past two years alone we have seen goalkeepers Chris Kirkland and Steve Harper attacked by opposition fans and many pitch invasions such as the one at Molineux at the end of last season - which could have easily developed into more serious problems than they did.

As Ince states in his interview, hopefully it won't take a really bad disaster and worse casualties for the authorities to act.
