Both Leeds and Chesterfield head into Wednesday night's League Cup fixture off the back of opening day victories.

Brian McDermott's side scored a late winner to beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1, whilst the Spireites were comfortable 2-0 victors at Bury.

Debutant Luke Murphy's goal secured the victory, endearing himself into the hearts of Leeds fans immediately.

With home advantage to boot, the Championship club will be the favourites to progress through to the second round of the Capital One Cup.

But with that expectation, will come a lot of added pressure on the players at Elland Road.

Meanwhile, the Chesterfield players can go out and enjoy the big occasion of playing in front of a large crowd without any fear.

The last time they encountered Leeds was over 50 years ago, in another League Cup game incidentally.

On that fateful night in the 1960/61 season, it was United who trounced their opponents in a 4-0 win.

Paul Cook will be hoping that his side will at least give a better account of themselves tomorrow, but the club will have been pleased with the draw regardless.

He has brought Ian Evatt back to the club, and the former Blackpool defender could offer some much-needed experience in this cup tie.

Last season, the League Two side were eliminated by Tranmere in the first round, whereas Leeds progressed all the way to the quarter-finals, beating Premier League teams Everton and Southampton on their cup run.
