During the Emirates Cup, there were high expectations for Arsenal but they failed to deliver, and suffered two disappointing results.

However, there are still plenty of positives to take from the tournament.

1. Lukasz Fabianski is looking very sharp.

In the Asia tour and the Emirates Cup, he has been very alert to opposition attacks, making some fine saves and helping out the defence by intercepting dangerous crosses.

The Polish stopper may be the 'keeper Arsenal need to challenge Szczesny for the No. 1 shirt and contribute towards keeping more clean sheets.

2. Kieran Gibbs continues to impress.

With good defensive ability, threatening pace and a powerful drive to get forward, he has the qualities to become a world-class full-back.

Against Napoli, he was often delivering dangerous balls into the box and did not show any signs weakness when defending. If he stays injury free, Gibbs will develop into a very exciting player.

3. Laurent Koscielny is one Arsenal's best defenders.

After a brilliant season, Laurent Koscielny is still demonstrating why he is a world-class defender. Aggressive in the tackle, fast and agile, there are so many great features in Koscielny's game.

Arguably Arsenal's best player in the Emirates Cup, the Frenchman was often the man regaining possession for Arsenal and breaking down opposition attacks. He even bagged himself a goal ahead of another prosperous season at Arsenal.

4. Sagna is returning to his best.

At times last season, there were huge doubts as to whether Sagna still has the talent to be Arsenal's right-back. However, in pre-season and the Emirates Cup, he has really shown his strength.

He rarely loses out in a tackle and reads the game exceptionally. Now 30 years old, Sagna now has the benefit of using his experience to enhance his game. He has shown that he is returning to his best and provide greater strength in Arsenal's right-back position.
