Jose Mourinho is set to face former employers Real Madrid - just three months after he made his Bernabeu exit - when Chelsea take on the Spanish giants in the final of the International Champions Cup this Wednesday.
The game will take place in Miami and forms part of both teams' pre-season tours of the USA. For the Portuguese manager, it will provide a chance for him to prove himself against his former bosses.
Despite winning a league title in his second year in the Spanish capital, Mourinho had a tough time in the final months of his post, receiving a lot of criticism from fans as the club were helpless to prevent Barcelona running away with La Liga.
And his departure has seemingly provoked a spending spree at Madrid, with the Galacticos already splashing out £63 million on new arrivals. And that figure would be more than doubled if they are now to get their main target: Gareth Bale.
This huge reinvestment will offer Carlo Ancelotti - who is also facing a former side - a good chance of beating his predecessor. Incidentally, many people felt that the Italian manager was poorly treated by the west London club, who sacked him just a year after he had secured the double for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Mourinho's messianic move back to Chelsea has brought waves of optimism that he can win yet another Premier League title.
He has signed the likes of Andre Schurrle and Marco van Ginkel and is likely to reinvigorate the players who served him during his first spell at Stamford Bridge.
This may be billed as a friendly, but neither manager will want to lose to their former clubs.
