Chelsea will take on Real Madrid for the inaugural Guinness Champions Cup this Wednesday in Miami.
The game is made all the more special by the fact that it will two managers who have served for both the football clubs involved.
Chelsea, with a 100 percent record in the 2013 pre-season, scoring 17 goals in five matches, will face their toughest challenge yet in last season's Champions League finalists Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants need no introduction to their brilliance. As they prove time and time and time again, that they are regularly one of the greatest and strongest clubs on the globe.
Any real football fan will know the talent that has been incorporated into these teams. From Cristiano Ronaldo to Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos and David Luiz, and Mata to Ozil – fixtures like this one have all the potential required to become a ‘history book filler’.
But the main axiom that will be on everyone’s lips, is the ‘payback’ that Jose Mourinho will want to subject on his previous club, and, quite ironically coincidental, Carlo Ancelotti may want the same towards Chelsea.
This doesn’t mean to say that the managers want to upset their previous squads, no, they may simply want to get back at the hierarchal figures that unfairly disposed of them in the first instance – and you cant blame them for that.
Nevertheless, this match, which quite frankly could be a preview of the Champions League final for the 2013/2014 season, could deliver many magical and almost surreal moments.
One could not prognosticate the result, but then again, why specify what already is a great clash.
