Many Arsenal fans believed that this transfer window would be different to usual.
They expected big names and a number of signings to boost their team's chances of securing silverware coming into the 2013/14 season.
However, with a handful of players having departed and only the free transfer signing of unproven France U20 striker Yaya Sanogo, many of the fans are curious as to whether the promise of 'big name' signings carries any sort of validating weight.
As it stands, Arsene Wenger has remained tight-lipped on the subject of transfers. However, he has also recently admitted that Arsenal may have to play the first leg of their Champions League qualifier with no new signings.
The club transfer record bids made for Liverpool hitman Luis Suarez came as a surprise to many Arsenal fans. It also came as a sign of relief, proving that the club was ready to go all out to bring a quality signing to the Emirates.
Arsenal have also been subject to criticism from Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers who claimed that Arsenal are carrying out their transfers lacking 'class', contrary to Arsene Wenger's statement that all of Arsenal's transfer discussions are carried out in a disciplined manner.
Amidst speculation of some rumoured 'big-name' signings, Arsenal still remain to prove that they are capable of using their transfer budget successfully, showing they can compete in the transfer window with the likes of transfer active clubs, such as Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, to name a few.
Other players that Arsenal have been linked to, include Ashley Williams, Wayne Rooney, Luiz Gustavo, Bernard, Marouane Fellaini, Christian Benteke and Alvaro Vadillo.
So will Arsenal bring any players to the club before the transfer deadline? Will Arsene Wenger prove to the fans that he is capable of attracting proven talent to the club in the form of major signings? Leave your opinions in the comments section below.
