The Huddersfield Giants hammered Salford City Reds to regain top spot and keep up their good form going into the big game next week against Wigan Warriors.
The Giants got off to a wonderful start, with Jermaine McGillvary getting on the end of a wonderful Scott Grix kick to give the Giants a 4-0 lead.
Five minutes into the game the Giants were 10-0, as the same player McGillvary got on the end of brilliant work from Danny Brough before the Scottish international got the extras.
Salford City Reds then decided to step up their defence and didn’t concede another try until just before the half hour mark when David Faiumu showed great footwork to go over, and then Brett Ferres charged in moments later after Lee Gaskell had kicked the ball dead from the restart.
Joe Wardle added to lead after breaking through the line and Brough landed the extras to leave the Giants 28-0 up at the break.
Brough touched down for the first score of the second period before the Reds avoided a whitewash when Evalds scored from Marc Sneyd's kick.
The Giants then took control of the game again, with Jamie Cording going straight through the posts to score, and then the same player ran through the defence after sustained pressure.
The game ended 46-4, with this result meaning The Giants regained top spot the week before facing Wigan Warriors who lie in second.
