Gerard Pique claims Cesc Fabregas has decided to remain at Barcelona next season, despite continued interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils have already made two offers for the Spanish international, which have both been rejected by the La Liga champions, as new manager Gerardo Martino looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League once again.
Pique told a press conference that he was confident the former Arsenal captain would remain at the club under the new boss, and expects to see him featuring regularly for the Catalans next term.
"Playing for Barcelona has always been his dream and I'm very happy he's decided to remain at the club. I think he made up his mind a long time ago," Pique said.
Andres Iniesta also ranked Fabregas as a valuable part of Barcelona's future, and is hopeful his teammate opts to stay at the Nou Camp next season rather than move back to England.
"He is very important to the team, same as every player who plays for Barcelona," Iniesta said.
"He played very well last season and he will continue to do so next season."
Fabregas returned ‘home’ to Barcelona back in 2011, leaving the Gunners for the Blaugrana in a deal worth around €30million.
He featured regularly under both Pep Guardiola and Tito Vilanova, but continues to be linked with a return to the Premier League.
