Manchester United managed to draw against AIK in Stockholm after Angelo Henriquez spared their blushes.
The game started brightly, with the main chances coming for Manchester United, although the Swedish giants had their fair share of opportunities.
United’s main threat came from Nani, yet he was taken off after just 29 minutes with an injury.
His replacement was Henriquez, yet United had to be alert to stop AIK from taking the lead after a few great chances for the hosts. At half-time the score was 0-0.
AIK came out on fire and scored within four minutes of the restart however, with Robin Quaisin unleashing a spectacular strike.
The Red Devils needed a goal to spare their blushes, and United struggled for the next 20 minutes. AIK had the majority of both the possession and also the chances.
Yet United did manage to find the net on 68 minutes. Angelo Henriquez prodded home after a great cross from Wilfried Zaha.
There were no goals afterwards although plenty of chances for United. Bébé and Danny Welbeck came on and the Premier League champions suddenly looked very threatening.
Yet nothing came of it and the game finished 1-1. United will be disappointed they didn’t take their chances and win the game.
