Luis Suarez's desire to leave Liverpool has been in the headlines throughout the transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers knows that the choice he makes could end up having drastic consequences on the club's performance next season, especially if he succeeds in forcing the Uruguayan to stay against his will.
If Suarez is forced to remain at Anfield next season, his reluctance to play for Liverpool may have an affect on his performance next season.
If one of Liverpool's most important players last season does not manage to continue his goalscoring form, it could end up costing Liverpool a place in the Europa League.
Perhaps it may be wise to get rid of Suarez before his bad attitude and performance spreads to other key players.
However, if Suarez is allowed to leave Anfield, and the suitable replacement is not found, it could end up leaving them in the same position.
They will be facing the same problem even if they do find a decent replacement, as only time will tell whether he will be able to replicate Suarez's performances and goalscoring tally.
All things considered, what is the best option for Rodgers? Perhaps he should consider selling the Uruguayan, and with that money, signing either Diego Costa, Darren Bent, or maybe even Chelsea's Demba Ba.
Should their replacement not be able to perform for Liverpool, they can always turn to Daniel Sturridge, who also turned out to be a vital member of their squad since his £15million move from Chelsea last January.
