Monty Panesar has reportedly been fined £90 for urinating on bouncers outside a Brighton nightclub.

According to BBC News, the 31-year-old spin bowler was fined for being drunk and disorderly after being caught in the early hours of Monday morning.

Reports are suggesting that Panesar was out celebrating in Brighton, and was fined on the spot for urinating on bouncers outside the Shooshh venue.

The England cricketer, who plays for Sussex County Cricket Club, apparently performed the deed from a promenade above the club, after being removed from the premises.

The bouncers then chased him for a distance before catching him, escorting him back to the club and calling the police.

Sussex County Cricket Club released a statement saying: "Sussex County Cricket Club can confirm that an incident took place involving Monty Panesar in the early hours of Monday August 5."

Panesar's spokesman offered: "Monty would like to apologise unreservedly for any offence caused."

The left-hand bowler was included in the 14-man England squad that were victorious in retaining the Ashes on Monday, but he played no part in the fixture.
