Luis Suarez wants Liverpool to ‘honour their agreement and to let him leave’.
According to Suarez, Liverpool promised that he could leave if they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
"I am 26, I need to be playing in the Champions League.
"I feel I have done enough to be playing in the Champions League at this stage of my career.
"Now there is an option for me to do that and I want very much to take it, I don't feel betrayed but the club promised me something a year ago just as I promised them that I would stay and try everything possible to get us into the Champions League."
Suarez has not travelled with the rest of his team mates for a pre-season match in Norway. This is reportedly down to a foot injury, though cynics are suggesting the Uruguayan is not in the right state of mind to pull on a Liverpool shirt at present.
Arsenal will be excited to hear this, and the club's fans will be hoping Arsene Wenger makes a renewed attempt to bring the 26-year-old striker to the Emirates.
Suarez to Arsenal is seeming more and more likely every day.
Arsenal recently sent a £40,000,001 bid which was intended to activate a clause in his contract that would allow him to speak to Arsenal.
However, that bid was rejected and there has not been any news of a fresh bid since.
Do you think Liverpool should honour their agreement or do you think Suarez is being disloyal and unfair? Please leave your comments below.
