The Atlanta Braves extended their winning streak to 12 matches against the Washington Nationals.
Back-to-back victories over the Capital club in this current three-game series have helped them to also extend their lead at the top of the National League Eastern conference.
Pitcher Julio Teheran threw brilliantly in six innings, to limit the home side to only one run. Two fifth inning runs for the Braves was enough to hand them yet another victory on this amazing streak.
The Nationals will now visit Atlanta for a three-match series on August 16, and could do with breaking the Braves' current form as the end of the regular season edges closer and closer.
In the American League Eastern division, the Boston Red Sox have similarly taken their victory tally to 69 games throughout this current campaign.
Both sides are looking in great shape as we enter the penultimate month of the 2014 season.
