Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has launched an astonishing attack on striker Luis Suarez and has claimed the Uruguayan needs to show the club a bit more respect when talking to the press about his current transfer saga.
All summer Suarez has been revealing how much he wants to leave Liverpool and how he feels his reputation has suffered since joining the Merseyside club after two incidents that saw him pick up hefty bans and fines.
The first one came when he was banned for racism against Manchester United's Patrice Evra and then at the end of last season, the Uruguayan was banned for 10-games after biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
The striker is now adamant on leaving Anfield and favours a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal after the north London-based club have shown severe interest in the Uruguayan, but after comments made in the press, Redknapp believes the striker needs to start showing his parent club a lot more respect.
He told Sky Sports: "My one question is why would Liverpool sell Suarez to Arsenal unless he forces the move through?
"I've heard that he is training poorly, he's not very happy and he's making his feelings known. I don't quite see why because Liverpool have looked after him and treated him unlike anyone else.
"Champions League football is always a good excuse - Fernando Torres used that as an excuse as well - and it all boils down to money.
"It's a sad situation given all the support they've given him. Kenny Dalglish pretty much lost his job for supporting Luis Suarez and Brendan Rodgers did it again with the biting incident.
"He should show more respect to the football club because they've protected him and gone beyond the call of duty in doing so.
"We'll have to wait and see where he ends up but I'd be surprised if they do sell him to Arsenal because they're rivals for the top four."
