England international cricketer Monty Panesar has been fined £90 for urinating on the bouncers of a Brighton nightclub.

The Sussex spinner was reportedly ejected from Shooshh in the early hours of Monday morning, after several women claimed that he had been harassing them.

Upon leaving the club, he walked up to the overbearing promenade. From his vantage point he then proceeded to relieve himself, with the security guards directly below him.

He was pursued to a nearby pizza shop, where he was heard to be shouting for help, before the bouncers escorted him back to the establishment.

The police were called and he was handed a £90 penalty for being drunk and disorderly.

Panesar has subsequently released a statement via a spokesperson which apologises for his actions on the south coast.

"Monty would like to apologise unreservedly for any offence caused," it reads.

His county club are now investigating the incident.

The left arm bowler had been a part of the England squad for the Old Trafford Test against Australia, although he didn't play, and had already been dropped - prior to this unsavoury incident - for the fourth Test, which starts this week.
