Manchester United manager David Moyes is confident of bringing in new recruits before the transfer window shuts.

The comments follow United's unsuccessful bids for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, whom the Catalan giants insist they will not sell.

The Premier League champions have also failed with bids for Thiago Alcantara, who instead preferred a move to Champions League winners Bayern Munich, and Leighton Baines.

Recently, United's transfer policy has been limited to superficial rumours, with various newspapers claiming Marouane Fellaini will join his former coach at Old Trafford.

The current Everton boss has been quick to dismiss rumours of an official offer from United for the Belgian also, as Moyes continues to stutter in sealing the deals.

However, the Scot is optimistic that he will bring in new faces before the transfer deadline.

After United drew 1-1 with AIK Stockholm, Moyes told reporters: "I do think we'll be bringing players in before the window shuts. They will come.

"We're moving along but if you said, 'Is anything close?', I couldn't give you an answer.

"I'm relaxed, we've got a squad here and it's the same group of players that won the Premier League last year. You can never tell until the season starts but we are looking forward to it."

When questioned over United's pursuit of Fabregas, a player they have failed in two bids for, the Scot answered: "I can't really say anything about that. We will sign some players before the end of the window.

"And these are the champions of England. They are a good squad and I look forward to going into the new season with them."
