Fernando Torres is aiming to impress new boss Jose Mourinho, and earn a regular place in the first-team at Chelsea, despite facing tough competition next season.
The likes of Demba Ba, Romelu Lukaku, and possibly Wayne Rooney could all be competing for places in the Blues side next year.
However, Spanish striker Torres insists he is ready for the new season, despite his extended holiday.
Torres, who has just returned back to the club, after his extended break following the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
He also remained positive about the season ahead under Mourinho, saying: “I am fully prepared for the season, which should be a good one."
With lots of competition at Chelsea Torres could be swept aside, but he maintains his confidence in returning to his best under the 'Special One.'
Torres, who signed for Chelsea from Liverpool in 2011 for a club record £50 million, has never really lived up to the billing.
A prolonged goal drought at the start of his time at the Blues put the pressure on him, and since then he has never fully recovered.
A shadow of what he used to be, this could be a vital season in the career of 'el nine', a chance to return to his best.
Chelsea and Torres will hope he they can do just that in their first game against Hull at home.
All Torres can hope for is that Mourinho works his magic yet again, and this would be his hardest trick of all, let’s wait and see if he pulls it out the bag.
