On Monday May 27 we saw Kevin Phillips fire Crystal Palace into the Premier League from an extra-time penalty in the play-off final. And, with that victory comes the £90million bonus that could be used to import top quality talent.

But so far the Eagles have brought in four players, two free agents and two for an undisclosed fee. And so questions should be raised: 'Are Crystal Palace lacking ambition?'

Hull City have been extremely busy securing the services of experienced goalkeeper, Ahmed Elmohamady, Curtis Davis, Steve Harper and Maynor Figueroa along with two other players. These experienced squad additions will help them in their attempt to stay up this season.

Cardiff City have been less busy but have made two very good signings. Young Dane, Andreas Cornelius is a proven goalscorer after getting 18 goals for København, even if it is a much weaker league. They have also signed Steven Caulker from Tottenham who will definitely sure up some defensive problems.

There are several players that have been released by their clubs and ageing players who are just looking for some regular playing time before hanging up their boots. Not to mention the immense young talent that needs nurturing by older more experienced players such as Adnan Januzaj, Jesse Lingard, Marc Bartra and many others.

It's these kinds of players that could add more depth to a club. And with Wilfried Zaha gone, Kevin Phillips ageing and injured, Aaron Wilbraham is not good enough to lead the front line on his own.

There are still many experienced free agents such as William Gallas, Carlton Cole and Yossi Benayoun all still waiting to be snatched up while either Cole or former Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz will help the forwards problem.

So all in all, if Crystal Palace want to stay up, they will have to recruit new players and don't have to look far for quality talent.
