With the return of the Special One, the expectation levels have been raised at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are being widely tipped for a very successful season, with the fan favourite manager back at the helm. The purchases of Schurrle and Van Ginkel have been met with appreciation from the Blues' fan base, as well as the clever additions like Schwarzer to shore up weak spots in the squad.
The new players will certainly improve what was already a squad capable of the best football in the country. With the new manager's tactical nous and a greater squad depth than ever before, the 2013/14 season is lined up to be very good one for the Blues.
For success on any level certain players are going to have to step it up a gear. Several key players like Mata, Luiz and Lampard had very good seasons but some of the supporting cast will need to either return to the level they have set for themselves in the past or in some cases exceed the standards they set last season.
