FC Porto defender Rolando is close to sealing a move to Serie A, with Sky Sport Italia claiming Inter Milan are on the brink of signing the central defender.

The 27-year-old will head to the San Siro in a loan deal after the two clubs came to agreement over the Portuguese international's future.

Rolando, who spent half of last season with Serie A side Napoli after a loan move in January, is expected to arrive in Italy tomorrow for a medical.

Inter's new manager will be familiar with the defender, as Rolando was part of Walter Mazzarri's Napoli side that finished second behind Juventus last season.

However the Portuguese will be hoping to feature more prominently for Inter, having made only nine appearances during his time at the Stadio San Paolo.

Rolando, who has been capped 19 times by his country, has spent five years at Porto -playing 110 games for the side that has enjoyed plenty of success over the past decade, claiming another Portuguese title last season.
