New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says his side is the best squad in the Premier League.
The Chilean who was brought in as Roberto Mancini's replacement earlier this summer and has fired a warning to the rest of the league by spending around £90m during the transfer window.
Fernandinho, Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic have all been added by Pellegrini to join a group of big-name players he inherited.
"I think we have the best squad in England. We bought four important players, we already has a very good team and with these four player I think we improved a lot," he said.
Fellow title rivals Chelsea have added Marco van Ginkel and Andre Schurrle to their squad, while Manchester United has yet to improve their squad.
"We hope that from the first match against Newcastle at home we will start winning, and we will try to bring another trophy here," Pellegrini added.
The 59-year-old will be under huge pressure to deliver trophies to the Etihad Stadium. Mancini was axed for a trophy-less season last term, despite winning City their first Premier League title in the 2011/12 season for the first time since 1968.
Pellegrini is priced at 9/4 with most bookmakers to bring the Premier League back to the blue-half of Manchester after losing out to arch-rivals United last year.
