Liverpool owner John W Henry has told star striker Luis Suarez: "You're going nowhere."
Henry has insisted that the Uruguayan will not be sold to a rival club and labelled the situation as 'ludicrous'.
"We are not going to sell Luis. It's very important not to sell to a rival. It would be ludicrous," he told reporters.
With just eight days to go until the Premier League kicks-off, the American owner is adamant that the player will remain with Liverpool.
Suarez who said earlier in the week that boss Brendan Rodgers had promised him a move away from Anfield if they failed to qualify for the Champions League at the end of last season.
But the outraged Rodgers denies any promises and has accused his star man of showing a lack of respect for Liverpool - but the owner has reiterated the Reds are not going to sell him.
The 26-year-old has been told to train alone after trying to force a move to Arsenal, with the Gunners having had two bids of around £40million rejected for the player.
And now, Arsenal are believed to be preparing an improved offer for the striker, which is thought to be in the region of £50million.
"We are not going to sell him. It's a football reason, it's not about finances," added Henry.
Suarez, who has been on an anti-Liverpool rampage for most of the summer, pleaded to the club earlier this week to let him move to a club that is involved with the Champions League.
"I am 26, I need to be playing in the Champions League. There is an option for me to do that and I want very much to take it," said Suarez.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, now a pundit on Sky Sports News, believes that the issue will prevent the club from fully focusing on the league next season.
"He can't carry on the way he's been carrying on. Brendan Rodgers has come out and said that nobody is bigger than the club and that's exactly right.
"If Suarez is a distraction for everyone then he needs to be taken out of the group," he told Sky Sports.
Suarez, who joined Liverpool in January 2011 from Ajaz from £22.7million, netted 30 goals in 44 appearances for the Reds last season.
