England international hands £50 note to tramp in Soho

West Ham United's star signing of the summer transfer window, Andy Carroll, gave a beggar a £50 note on a night out in Soho on Thursday evening.

The England international, who is currently nursing a heel injury, is hoping to be fit for the start of the Premier League season.

And on a big night out in central London, Carroll has been pictured showing his generous side.

Caroll's act of good faith may not help recover from his injury problem any quicker - but he would have made the beggar's night.

The Englishman made the permanent switch from Merseyside to London this summer and seems to be finding his feet in England's capital.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the Upton Park outfit, scoring seven goals for the Hammers.

Carroll's side West Ham take on Cardiff City in their first Premier League game of the 2013/14 season.
