Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned La Liga giants Barcelona that defender David Luiz is not for sale.
Brazilian defender Luiz was subject of a £34.5million bid on Thursday but the west London side quickly rejected Barcelona's opening bid.
However, it has since been reported that Barcelona boss Tata Martino has made Luiz his top summer target and will make an improved bid for the 26-year-old.
Martino is said to be desperate to bring in a new centre-back as veteran defender Carles Puyol continues to be plagued by a knee injury.
Speaking of Barcelona's recent offer, Mourinho said: "The bid? It's lost time for them."
"My advice to them is to go to the second player on their list because they are wasting their time. We don't want to lose our best players. No chance."
Barcelona may now switch their attention to Liverpool defender Daniel Agger - who is also said to be on Martino's shortlist.
New Barcelona boss Martino may be forced into playing midfield duo Alex Song and Javier Mascherano at the back with Gerard Pique if he cannot attract one of his top targets to the Camp Nou.
