Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey insists that the squad are excited and ready for the test that awaits them when they face Turkish outfit Fenerbahce in the Champions League play-off round.

The draw took place yesterday and it was a tough pick for Wenger's men as Fenerbahce would have been one of the sides they were keen to avoid.

The first leg of the tie will take place on August 21 in Turkey before the return leg, which will be played at the Emirates Stadium six days later.

The last time the two sides met each other, it finished 5-2 to the Gunners, with Ramsey scoring one of the goals - and he insists that, despite the draw being tough, the players are ready for the match.

“It's obviously going to be a very tough game for us but we did a lot of hard work last season to get into this position so we're looking forward to the test of going there,” he told Arsenal's official website. “We had a really good result there a few years back. The support there is quite phenomenal and I'm sure they'll be up for it again.

“But we realise what we have to do and I'm sure with this group of players, we're more than capable of producing a good performance and result."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also well aware of the task ahead, and he knows that his players will have to be playing their best in order for them to win the game.

“It is a difficult draw because Fenerbahce are a team who have a history in the Champions League and have good players who have played before in the Premier League, for example Joseph Yobo and Dirk Kuyt,” Wenger commented.

“I looked at their squad - they have a lot of experience in there. We need a good performance. I'm confident we can go through but it's a big task.”
