Real Madrid have well and truly lit up their fierce rivalry with Barcelona, after pictures of the club's new third kit were revealed online.

Images have began circulating the internet of the new orange strip, set to split opinion among the club's fan base, with the colour bearing a strong link to their famous rivals Barcelona as it symbolises the Catalan flag.

The third kit has yet to be confirmed by the club or its sponsors Adidas, but it is understood the fluorescent colours will be worn in European competition when there is a kit clash with their opponents.

Barcelona's decision to sport the colours last season with the release of the 'tequila sunrise' strip, was met with plenty of disapproval by fans, which has subsequently been ditched ahead of the new campaign.

It isn't the first time Real have sported orange clothing, with goalkeeper Iker Casillas wearing it last season; however, Madrid will be hoping for a more positive reaction from their fans if the reports are confirmed.
