Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria has re-iterated his desire to remain at the Bernabeu for the foreseeable future.
25-year-old Di Maria, who has been in the Spanish capital since moving from Benfica in July 2010, has been widely linked with a move away from Real this summer with intense speculation suggesting he could move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur as part of a mammoth deal to bring Welsh starlet Gareth Bale to the club.
However, Di Maria has moved to end the rumours by insisting he will remain at the club, now managed by Italian Carlo Ancelotti, beyond the end of the current transfer window.
The Argentina international told reporters: "I'm staying in Madrid, because I have three years left on my contract and I'm very happy here.
"Also in [Ancelotti’s] selection, I have been playing more frequently in the middle. I’m used to and I feel comfortable playing there."
Di Maria made 46 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos last season, scoring eight goals.
Real, who endured a disappointing final campaign under Portuguese Jose Mourinho, begin their attempts to de-throne reigning La Liga champions Barcelona with a home clash against Real Betis on Sunday.
