Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson believes his side will only get better as the season progresses despite his team picking up three wins in just seven days.
The new campaign has been nice to The Posh so far after they beat Swindon Town at home on the first day of the season thanks to a goal from new signing Britt Assombalonga. That victory was then followed up by a 5-1 thrashing of Colchester in the Capital One Cup and then yesterday, Ferguson's men made it three wins out of three with a 4-2 victory over Notts County at Meadow Lane.
Despite falling 1-0 down just after half-time, goals from Tommy Rowe, Tyrone Barnett, Grant McCann and Britt Assombalonga, made sure that the three points were going back to Cambridgeshire.
A late penalty for the host was just a mere consolation goal and after the game, Posh manager, Ferguson, admitted that despite having an impressive start to the season, performances will only get better as his players find 100%.
"It was a good result and you've always got to be happy with three points. I wouldn't say it was a great performance and I'm not happy with conceding two goals," he said.
"But it is a very difficult place to come so we've got to be happy with a win. I just wanted us to do the basics right as it's very much a league where the team who make the least mistakes will win games and when we do the basics right we are a good team.
"We need to improve on that if we want to do what we want to do. We've got periods in the game when we just go up a level, which is too much for teams at the moment. "But I'm delighted with the start we've made - three games, three wins and 10 goals. You can't ask more than that."
Posh's next game is at home to Oldham next Saturday as they look to get nine point from nine in the league.
