According to talkSPORT, Ray Parlour has stated that Arsene Wenger needs to make major signings before the Premier League opening weekend.
Despite declaring at the start of the summer that they had money to spend, Arsenal have yet to purchase anyone; their only arrival being the relatively unknown entity, Yaya Sanogo.
Former midfielder Parlour believes that Wenger needs to bring big names to the Emirates, or risk leaving fans disappointed again.
"They definitely need a couple of players," Parlour said.
"Everybody is waiting for a signing, a real big key player. Suarez would be a massive player for Arsenal if they signed him.
"Arsene Wenger will still be looking at buying players and I'm hoping he can bring in two of three before the season starts. It would give Arsenal every chance.
"He has got lots of players in the squad and he needs players now who are really going to strengthen the team. He needs a couple of key signings," Parlour added.
With less than a week to go until the opening fixtures of the Premier League season, fans of the Gunners will be rightly bemused as to why they have yet to see any new players arrive in north London.
No doubt Wenger is assessing his options and potential targets but, as the Luis Suarez saga rumbles on, it's unclear where this new signing is going to be coming from.
