Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez have both been linked with possible summer moves to Real Madrid.
There has been continuous speculation linking Bale to Real Madrid with a new world record transfer fee in the region of £100million.
Real Madrid would be foolish to splash so much on the Welshman, since they have a better option available in Luis Suarez, who would be significantly cheaper than Bale.
I will now break down the decision between choosing between Bale and Suarez:
Real Madrid have bought four new players already this summer, including attacking midfielder Isco, who will be fighting with Mesut Özil for one first team place.
So buying Bale for such a massive fee would be a major mistake due to there being so many other players fighting for the position he is likely to fill, not to mention spelling the end of Angel Di Maria’s time at Santiago Bernabeu.
On the other, hand Real Madrid only have only one experienced striker in Karim Benzema after the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli, so securing a deal for Suarez would be a more useful option.
Who is better?
Luis Suarez found the back of the net 30 times in 44 appearances for Liverpool last season— a return of 0.68 goals per game; Gareth Bale scored 26 goals in 45 games, giving him an average of 0.57 goals per game over the course of the season.
Surprisingly, Suarez got four Premier League assists last season, while Bale managed just one – something Madrid should really think about.
Since Real already have attacking midfielders and wingers, it would be much better to sign Suarez than signing Bale.
They would also save quite a lot of money in getting a much more reliable player, in Suarez.
However, Bale would be the best fit for the team if they sell Di Maria.
