Tottenham are set to continue their summer spending spree with a £12million deal for Croatian midfielder Alen Halilovic, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dinamo Zagreb star, dubbed 'the new Luka Modric', was subject of a double bid from Spurs as they offered £17million for both the midfielder and defender Tin Jedvaj.
However, the latter has since decided to move to Italian side Roma.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly been a long-term admirer of Halilovic, who became the youngest scorer in Croatian football at the age of 16 years and 112 days.
Personal terms have yet to be agreed with the White Hart Lane outfit and it has been reported that the youngster's parents have reservations about a move to England so early in his career.
Should Halilovic join the Lilywhites he would become Villas-Boas' fifth signing as he continues to bolster his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Paulinho, Nacer Chadli, and Roberto Soldado have all arrived for more than £50million with Eitene Coupe set to complete a £12million move.
Meanwhile, the transfer saga involving Gareth Bale is ongoing but negotiations have slowed down after Real Madrid and Spurs have failed to agree a fee.
If the side can keep hold of the Welshman then Spurs will be going into the new seasons with a hugely improved side as they bid to compete for a Champions League spot.
