Chelsea has been rocked with a transfer bombshell as their star defender David Luiz has his heart set on a move to Barcelona.
The 26-year-old defender has reportedly informed manager Jose Mourinho that he wants to leave London for a move to Catalunya.
Dani Alves has made it no secret that he would love to have his fellow Brazilian at the Camp Nou.
However Alves stated that he thought a move for the 26-year-old national teammate would not be easy because of Jose Mourinho.
The former Real Madrid boss will not want to do business with the La Liga champions but it now seems as if Barcelona may get their man.
Reports on Tuesday suggested that that Luiz himself informed Mourinho of his desire to move to the Camp Nou.
Chelsea has already rejected a £25m bid for the defender but this new development is said to have encouraged Barcelona who are said to be ready to offer £31m for the Brazilian.
Barcelona surely needs a defender after their demolition to Bayern Munich in last season's Champions League semi-final.
Gerard Pique is not in great form and Carles Puyol is not getting any younger plus he has his injury problems.
Youngsters Marc Bartra and Martin Montoya has not shown they are ready for the top level just yet.
Luiz is certainly the ideal player that suits the Barcelona way of playing.
He is a very technically gifted player who is good on the ball, passes well, is very composed and has an eye for goal.
At the age of 26, Luiz is about to enter his peak years and so it would be a great coup if Barcelona is able to get him.
He would be joining Neymar and Dani Alves who can help ease him into life at the Camp Nou.
