Paris Saint-Germain are looking to strengthen their defence with Dani Alves as their primary objective, .

Laurent Blanc wants to close the window with the addition of a midfielder and a right-back. However, the French side are aware of the difficulty of the transfer and have put Bacary Sagna (Arsenal) and Mathieu Debuchy (Newcastle) as alternatives.

Relationships between PSG and Barcelona deteriorated when president Nasser Al-Khelaifi refused to negotiate for Thiago Silva and threatened to pay the buyout clause of Lionel Messi if Barca are persistent in their pursuit of the centre-back.

La Blaugrana will not listen to any offers for the Brazilian right-back as the Camp Nou is his permanent fixture.

Alves, 30, who is now in Basel with the Brazil and teammate Neymar, is scheduled to play a friendly tomorrow against Switzerland.

The 30-year-old had stated in an interview that his intention was to stay in the club and it will be difficult to decide whether he has to leave or not until it is no good in Barca and a move away would be for the best.
