Tottenham are expected to sell Emmanuel Adebayor and need another striker to replace him. Abel Hernandez fits the bill.
With the imminent exit of Adebayor, Spurs need another striker in order to mount a challenge for a Champions League spot or better.
Spurs should look for a young, upcoming striker. The London club should be targeting Palermo striker Hernandez.
Hernandez is only 23 years old and has bags of potential. He has yet to set the world alight with only 21 goals in 88 appearances for Palermo.
However, he has all the attributes to be a top notch striker. The Uruguay striker is tall at 6ft 1in, strong, fast and a great finisher.
Hernandez has yet to make his mark for his country with only 10 caps for Uruguay, but he has registered seven goals in those few appearances.
Hernandez would cost in the region of £10m. He has just been relegated to Serie B with Palermo and the Italian club may be forced to sell the striker.
Spurs may face stiff competition for the striker with teams such as Inter Milan, Arsenal, Liverpool, Galatasaray and Paris Saint-Germain all been linked with Hernandez in the past.
Spurs most serious competition may come from Sunderland though. The north east club were interested in the striker earlier this summer.
Hernandez can be a world-class striker in the future. At Tottenham, the Uruguayan will be supplied with creative players such Aaron Lennon, Moussa Dembele, Gareth Bale and Nacer Chadli and would score goals for fun.
Hernandez has had a injury ridden career so far but with the right manager and the right club the Uruguay forward could be prolific. Spurs could unearth another gem if they decide to sign Hernandez.
