Pamela Anderson has been instated as the team principal of a new team: Race Alliance, that will contest the remainder of the FIA GT Series with former F1 racer Vitantonio Liuzzi among its drivers.

The actress has collaborated with sometime GT racer Marcus Fux to bring up the team. The pair had previosuly fronted the Downforce1 European Le Mans teams, which had not gone through.

The new team, will be operating from Germany, will field a single Ferrari 458 Italia in the final three FIA GT Championship series, starting with the Slovakia Ring the coming weekend. The next two events are in Spain and Azerbaijan.

Liuzzi, who has six years of F1 experience with Toro Rosso, Force India, HRT, and also Red Bull in their early days, has failed to cement his place in the sport, last competing in 2011. He has since competed in FIA World Endurance Championship, International Superstars Series, and the Italiano Superstars Series, where he won.

His partner, Mathias Lauda, the son of three time F1 Champion Niki Lauda, has raced in the GT series last year as well, with team vita4one BMW.

In a statement issued by the team, they say: "We want to make Racealliance a recognisable name and have looked for the best drivers possible.

"The plan is to contest the full FIA GT Series next year, as well as the Nurburgring 24 Hours, and then look to NASCAR after that."

They further added that the outfit has no qualms about trading off the TV star's name; with their eyes set on NASCAR next season.
