Arsenal continue to struggle to stamp their authority on the summer transfer window, as Sebastian Perez has been told he will not be joining the Gunners following a trial during pre-season.
The 20-year-old Colombian midfielder has not been granted a work permit to move to England and his current club, Atletico Nacional, have announced there will be no move to the Emirates stadium, according to Sky Sports.
Perez spent the first week in August on trial with the Premier League outfit and played in their 3-1 pre-season victory over Manchester City last weekend.
The midfielder was picked up by the club's scouts playing for Colombian under-20 in the World Cup in Turkey and manager Arsene Wenger was keen to complete the deal.
Victor Marulanda, Atletico Nacional director, said: "The possibility of joining Arsenal has been ruled out.
"Perez remains a target for a couple of other clubs and will be allowed to go if a deal can be sorted," he added.
The club had previously suggested it would take a bid of £5million to convince them to let the midfielder leave.
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to be linked with players. Among the most notable on the wish-list is Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo, and the Gunners are hoping to complete a deal for the Brazilian as Wenger looks to bolster his midfielder options to take the pressure of Mikel Arteta.
