Liverpool have made an £8million offer for French centre-back Mamadou Sakho, according to The Metro.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to continue to sure up his back-line following the departure of Jamie Carragher. The Ulsterman is also growing concerned about Barcelona's continued interest in Daniel Agger.
Sakho, 23, has reportedly been told he is free to leave the French champions, after they purchased Marquinhos from Roma earlier in the transfer window.
The announcement of the proposal made by the powers that be at Anfield, which has been widely reported in the French press, follows rumours of a failed attempt to sign Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
Rodgers was said to be enquiring about the possibility of bringing the Greek centre-back to Merseyside, but was put off by the estimated £18million price tag Schalke had placed upon his head.
PSG are said to be weighing up Liverpool's offer for Sakho, but no decision has been reached yet.
Sakho, who has made 14 appearances for the France national side since his senior debut in 2010, is seen as a defender with potential for the future, having played over 150 times for PSG, despite his young age.
