Australian Open champion Marco Fu is through to the last 64 of the Bluebell Wood Open after beating Graeme Dott 4-3 at the Doncaster Dome.

The player from Hong Kong will now face Gary Wilson in the next round of the third European tour event of the season.

In the seventh meeting between the two (with each having three wins apiece), he fell behind as Dott had runs of 45 and 40 in the first frame.  However, he made a break of 43 on his way to levelling before making a 72 to go in front.

The world number 13 then opened up a two-frame advantage with solid breaks of 57 and 61 to move one away from victory.  World number 16 Dott replied with a 57 to keep the match alive, before edging a scrappy sixth frame to force a decider.

However Fu held his nerve to advance to the last 64 later today.
