The 2013/14 Premier League campaign gets underway this weekend - and bookmakers are busy taking bets from thousands of punters on the always-popular top goalscorer market.
Robin van Persie took the Premier League's Golden Boot award last term, scoring 26 goals to help Manchester United secure their 20th league title in his debut campaign at Old Trafford.
Had Liverpool striker Luis Suarez not been serving a suspension in the final weeks of the campaign, it's likely that the Uruguayan would have finished top of the pile.
In the end he was forced to settle for 23, but his inexplicable decision to bite Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic has repercussions for this season, too.
He will miss the first six matches of the new campaign - regardless of whether or not he stays at Anfield - putting him at a major disadvantage in the race for this season's Golden Boot award.
Subsequently, I have omitted him from this list of contenders. Similarly with Tottenham's Gareth Bale, who scored 21 goals for Spurs last season but appears determined to force a move through to Real Madrid before the transfer window closes on September 2.
So, without further adieu, here are the five Premier League players that I expect to be in the mix for the award come May.
