Manchester United are eyeing Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil and are considering to launch a bid to bring the German international to the Premier League this summer.

New Manchester United boss David Moyes is still in the hunt for his first major signing as manager of the Reds, with midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Luka Modric also contenders.

According to the The Mirror, United will persuade Real Madrid to sell their midfield star, especially if they were to land Gareth Bale for a record fee of £85million.

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has also been lined up to a switch to Old Trafford, with old Everton boss David Moyes now at United, he could be set to reunite with his former player.

The Reds could be set to pay in the region of £25million for the Belgian international, which could be less than what Madrid would expect United to bid for Ozil.

Moyes has lost out on Thiago Alcantara who signed for Bayern Munich last month and most likely Cesc Fabregas, who the Scotsman has not given up hope on signing.

The United boss said on Thursday, "I'm confident we'll have players in before the start of he season.

"We're involved in several players we're looking at and that will continue. Will we get them before the deadline? I hope so. But we're working very hard to do so."

Moyes is looking to close in on a signing before the end of the transfer window, mainly a centre midfielder to solve a problem United have been facing for years, during Sir Alex Ferguson's reign.
