With the start of the 2013/14 Premier League campaign finally upon us, fans up and down the country will gather together with keen anticipation and fresh hope of what the next nine months could bring. 

For supporters of Cardiff City, Hull City and Crystal Palace the usual excitement that inevitably accompanies the start of the new season has been significantly heightened this summer following their respective escapes from the graveyard of fallen top-flight teams that is the Championship. 

Unsurprisingly, all three members of this year's promoted cohort have been tipped to face a year of struggle that could ultimately end in relegation. But, as we've seen several times in recent seasons, such clubs are extremely capable of exceeding expectations and making a mockery of dreary predictions put forward by pundits and bookies alike.
