Manchester United squad numbers released: Still no No.7

Published 3 Comments

Manchester United have released their squad numbers for the 2013/14 season and the No.7 and No.9 shirts are still free.

As previously reported, Antonio Valencia switched the famous No.7 back to the No.25 shirt.

The No.9 shirt was last worn by Dimitar Berbatov and as of yet, no Red Devils star has claimed the number.

Paul Scholes' old No.22 shirt has now been taken by Brazilian full-back Fabio and starlet Nick Powell has moved over to No.32.

The two new-comers to the squad, Wilfried Zaha and Guillermo Varela have taken up numbers 29 and 30 respectively.

Robin van Persie keeps the No.20 shirt that was so successful for him last season and Ryan Giggs continues to wear the No.11 shirt he's made famous.

However, the main talking point is that vacant No 7 shirt. And with many stars continually linked to Old Trafford, does David Moyes have a superstar in mind to take the famous shirt.

With stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and George Best all having worn the No.7 shirt, who will be next?

Below, are the Manchester United squad numbers for the 2013/14 season:
