Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy with the way Real Madrid have gone about trying to sign Gareth Bale, according to the Evening Standard.
The £86million that the Spanish giants have been musing over has made Ronaldo question how much he is truly valued in Madrid, despite having scored an incredible 146 goals in 135 games.
Sources close to the Portuguese superstar are saying that Ronaldo's feelings towards how his club have conducted their pursuit of Bale, are the reason for him stalling over contract-renewal negotiations.
According to the Standard, a source close to the former United man said: “He feels the club should have handled better the entire operation, especially with the figures that have been leaked to the media about Bale’s proposed transfer fee and [£8 million] salary.”
The 28-year-old himself, when asked about his thoughts on Bale moving to the Spanish capital, said: "I'm not qualified to talk about new players, but I'm very happy with the players the team already has."In terms of the transfer fee, you should speak to the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and president [Florentino Perez] about that.
I have my opinion, but I'm not going to reveal it in front of the cameras."I have my opinion about Bale, but I will not go public with it. These kind of issues are not my responsibility. I do not talk about new signings or player issues," Ronaldo added.
The striker is said to be upset that his Madrid would consider breaking the world record fee they paid for him back in 2009, just because Tottenham are playing hard-ball over Bale.
According to the source close to him: "He also feels that, as the team’s biggest star, Real Madrid didn’t respect him enough. They should have given higher priority to the renewal of his contract than having such public negotiations for a new signing.”
