The Premier League season kicks of tomorrow and Liverpool will host Stoke City at Anfield in their opening game of the 2013/14 season.
The big saga of the transfer window has surrounded Luis Suarez and whether he is staying or leaving. Today's news is that Suarez has apologised to Brendan Rogers and joined in with first-team training this morning.
Liverpool have also recruited Simon Mignolet in goal after failing to capture Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. As well as Manchester City defender Kolo Toure and Iago Aspas who will add to the Reds creativity and attack.
The Potters have also been in the market this summer taking on Erik Pieters from PSV and Marc Munesia from Barcelona and this will show in their defence tomorrow.
Both fixtures last season ended in frustrating goalless draws, so both teams will be wanting to improve on this and start the new season on a high.
Stoke have been working on a new style of football under new manager Mark Hughes and they will want to prove they can play in the Premier League without Tony Pulis' long ball tactics.
Liverpool will be wanting to get their season off to a flier after a disappointing season last time around, and will also be wanting to prove they can win games without main target-man Suarez as he sits out the remaining fixtures of his 10-match ban, for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
Expect an attacking focused line up from Rodgers as he tries to mould Liverpool into playing the pressing football he desires. As well as some attacking football from Stoke as they begin to play the ball on the ground.
Stoke have Andy Wilkinson available after he was sent off in pre-season and sat out his one-match ban. Other than the above both managers Hughes and Rodgers will be picking from a fully fit squad.
The match kicks off at 12:45 tomorrow afternoon.
