Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini believes his new side are in 'good shape' ahead of his side's Premier League opener against Newcastle on Monday.
The former Malaga boss has been impressed with the way his squad have prepared for the upcoming campaign.
City won three of their seven pre-season matches which saw them face tough opposition in Champions League winners Bayern Munich, Serie A giants AC Milan and Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Pellegrini told Sky Sports: "We are absolutely ready. We have had a very good pre-season, working for about 40 days with all the players, knowing each other more.
"I think we are in very good shape to start the Premier League.
"We had a programme for the whole pre-season. Each week we made all the work we need.
"We played seven friendly matches with different starting elevens so most of them had an average of minutes very similar to each other.
"We are all settled. I don't know what happens with other clubs but next Monday, eight o'clock, we will see if it was a good pre-season."
After facing Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium, City play Cardiff, Hull and Stoke before hosting rivals Manchester United on September 22.
